sorry, fucking yanks!!. i know the press makes it look like we’re all moronic dumbfucks, but be cheered to know that democrats (i.e. non-dumbfucks) oppose the slaughter by 22%. unfortunately, our elected “representatives” don’t see any need to actually reflect the wishes of the electorate. which is why the us is boned.

Abraham: i have been researching it extensively since the invasion began and self-righteous Israel apologists stated claiming history justified their position. so far i’ve discovered that Israel was founded in 1948 after many years of illegal violent terrorist activities by Zionists after the end of ww2 that succeeded in preventing the un plans for an equitable division of the land in the region from being enacted. i have also discovered that the majority of Israeli citizens are not genetic descendants of the tribes of Israel and in fact are descended from europeans who “converted” to the Jewish faith during the middle ages. which makes their endless referral to religious justification for their actions darkly laughable. one cannot “convert” to a religion based on ethnicity with any validity. i also learned Israel has refused to return land it took from the Palestinian reservation (the Native Americans being the closest valid analogy) in 1967 in continual violation of international law. note that the rockets being fired are being fired into this land. be careful what you ask for, because you may get it. in this case, the gaze of intellectually functional unbiased people who are quite disgusted to discover we’re been ignorantly abetting religiously justified persecution of an illegally displaced people.

The most interesting thing is that Israel seems to think that crippling the Palestinian areas’ economies (with sanctions, bans on trade), freezing their liquid assets, and other forms of “punishment” is going to help stop their terrorist attacks. With more and more going unemployed because of this, and Israel clearly causing it, most of them would be angry at Israel and have no chance for a purpose other than to fight for what they see as a just cause.

Israel seems to think that the deaths of 14 soldiers should be retaliated against with the deaths of 700+ civilians, only an estimated 58 were militants. When a father’s daughter is killed by an Israeli bomb, or when a family’s store is destroyed by an Israeli bulldozer, who can blame them for swearing to exact revenge?

Israel’s misguided, immature, retaliatory tactics are creating the problem, not fixing it. The only thing stopping an entire genocide on Palestinian areas is that the world would be forced to react negatively towards Israel.

I’m very proud that a congressman from my home state (Dennis Kucinich) stood up for his principles and voted against this bill. So many people in the US have a kneejerk reaction about this issue, but when you’re able to see past the mainstream media, get a different perspective (try European or Asian news) and read the history of the conflict, it’s obvious that there is much more to this story than we have been told.

you should do some real research into the history of the israel-gaza conflict and see who the aggressors really are. Rockets have been pouring down on towns in Southern Israel (such as Sderot) ever since Israel Pulled out of Gaza. Gaza had, in effect, been a launching pad for missiles to be fired at civilians for no purpose other than to kill Jews.
