The next 30 days – no food during the daylight hours
The month of Ramadan starts tomorrow. For those who don’t know it’s the month where Muslims fast from dawn till dusk every day for 30 (or 29) days. Usually there is a grand feast (or feasts) every night, but that’s not the “correct” way of doing it. I love this month because every weekend it’s a big party with my family. At the end of the month there is the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday where we have even grander feast and celebrate by giving gifts to each other usually just to the kids.
Anyways, I’m not really worried about not eating food. What I’m worried about is not being able to play Starcraft 2 (or not being able to play as much as I would like). During this month, we’re suppose to be better people and do good charity and good works instead of wasting time doing “non-beneficial” activities. Usually I try my best to do more “beneficial” actions instead of just playing games or watching tv. We’ll see how it goes.
At least I can work on some web dev projects I’ve been wanting to get to. Maybe I’ll make some grand changes to HalalTube or HalalTunes.
ShoutReel development will definitely be the main priority this month.

One year at my current job
Time really flies. I still feel that I’m new in the working world. Last year this time I began my first professional job right after graduating with my bacehlor’s. Many people say it’s all about the money, which is true, but it’s also about the environment and the people. The company I work for has a really great atmosphere and the culture is very laid back and relaxing. Compared to my family and friends and hearing them complain about their jobs, I am thankful to God that I have such a great bunch of co-workers.
On top of that, the amount of knowledge that I have gained with working with jQuery, basic PHP development and working with the companies framework is priceless. It has helped me with many of my personal projects and helped my sites grow greatly.
I look foward to continuing my growth and increasing my knowledge.
I wonder if anyone from my work will actually read this, haha. Holla if you do!
GEICO vs. Progressive vs. Esurance
Esurance
$1,446.05 for 6 months
Progressive
$1,435.00 for 6 months
GEICO
$599.20 for 6 months
All these price quotes were for the same drivers (me and my wife), car, model, coverage policies and basically all data submitted to each car insurance company. I was really shocked how cheaper GEICO was than the other two. I didn’t do State Farm yet, but I’ll put it up once I do it. Looks like “you can say 15% more on your car insurance by switching to GEICO”. Hah!
